A live recording of one of Jacqueline du Pre's performances of the Elgar CelloConcerto, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, was used in three scenes in this film. All of the other music was specially recorded. None of the persons depicted in the film was involved in or approved the recordings made specially for the film.
